Trick or Treat - Smell my Feet

Another spooktacular Halloween has come and gone. Maddie was a medieval princess with a LED light up dress, Devin was Ironman, and Peebie dressed as himself (refusing to carry on the tradition of Winnie the Poo). Ah, maybe next year.
It was beautiful weather and it could not have been better than to be on a Friday! Jewwi wowed us all with a yummy make-your-own-pizza bar. The children put on a great post-dinner show. Derek and I are convinced that if the kids could find a way to shoot up a reeses peanut butter cup, they would.

Chocolate. The first addiction in life.

Pumpkin Pickin at the Local Patch

Sunday we made the very short drive to Rader's Pumpkin Patch Farm (literally less than 10 minutes away). We have visited this patch for the last two or three years. My favorite part of our outing was being greeted by a full size wild turkey named Tom. Tom hangs out with the farm's dogs and believes he himself to be of canine descent. Pretty funny. The kids had a super excellent time, despite the windy & chilly conditions. Our front porch is in full fall decor now & it's official, summer's over!

Dancin Machine

Devin is not timid about displaying his breakdancing moves, no matter how big the crowd is! Here he is bustin' a move at the Shedd Aquarium last Saturday night. Thanks Nonnie for an awesome time!

Big Alien

My daughter Madeline suggested that my first blog entry be about a Big Alien.

The Big Alien we have this week in our house is the flu. Poor Maddie has an icky flu bug. It started with pukes & poops and now it's fever and aches.

When I asked Maddie how having the flu is like a Big Alien, she said that the flu virus comes from outer space too where it is dark and cold.

I hope our visitor blasts back off and leaves us before the other two small humanoids are affected. Thanks for checking out my blog. Annie, thanks for the inspiration to start documenting my life!
